Chase R. Crump, CFP®, Named an NFLPA Registered Player Financial Advisor

Crump will offer personalized financial and wealth management advice to current and retired NFL players

As a member of the program, initiated by the NFLPA over two decades ago, Crump will expand on WFA’s existing support for collegiate, semi-professional, professional and retired athletes across multiple sports, as well as those involved in name, image and likeness (NIL) endorsement deals. Becoming an NFLPA-registered financial advisor unlocks enhanced access to planning tools and events tailored to WFA clients’ specific needs. As a registered NFLPA advisor in the state of Louisiana, venturing into this new market will increase WFA’s visibility through one of the world’s largest brands.

“It’s a milestone moment in my career to be named as a Registered Player Financial Advisor by the NFLPA,” offered Crump. “Many athletes come from underserved communities, and coming into sudden wealth flips their world upside down. Signing an NFL contract represents a critical juncture in an athlete’s life. As such, it’s imperative that they have a trusted advocate on their side to guide them toward sound financial decisions.”

WFA has a track record of assisting athletes by evaluating their financial status and establishing both long-term goals and short-term objectives. Crump, a former professional baseball player for the Frontier League and NCAA Division III baseball player for the Louisiana Christian University Wildcats, combines his athletic background with a master’s degree in business. His personal athletic endeavors are complemented by almost 20 years of financial services experience, including stints at Chase Bank and Capital One. Crump’s background and experiences afford him deep insight into the financial needs of athletes.

“Our deep connection to our athlete clients, including our understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that they face, sets us apart,” added Dany Martin, MBA, partner and wealth advisor at WFA. “This isn’t just a job for us; it’s who we are. Chase’s approach to client service is rooted in a deep understanding of what it means to be an athlete, enabling him to develop strategies that are not only effective but empathetic to the unique situations his clients face. His approval by the NFLPA is a testament to his hard work and dedication. Together, we look forward to upping the game on behalf of our athlete clients.”

WFA prides itself on serving as its clients’ general manager, acting as a central point of contact that collaborates with all other professionals on an athlete’s team. This approach helps build a financial plan and evaluate opportunities that carefully balance the present and the future, ultimately positioning clients for sustained success.
