Verona, Henry: “I’m not bad technically, I’ll score many goals”

Thomas Henry, the new Verona forward, presented himself for the first time on the official channels of the Scaligeri. He talked about various topics, including the problem of settling into Serie A. Here are the words of the former Venezia:

On the choice of the new team:

I strongly wanted to come here. After speaking with the Sports Director Marroccu and Mr. Cioffi, I immediately made my decision: I felt the club’s trust in me, it was a simple choice. For me Verona represents an important step in my career: with Hellas I want to confirm the good things I did last year in the Italian championship, improving if possible. I’m ready to give my all for this team ”.

On the meeting with Cioffi:

I arrived at the training camp a week later than my teammates. I talked to the coach, but on the pitch I did some training alone, thus starting my preparation. In these weeks I am ready to get back in shape quickly ”.

The impact with Serie A:

The impact with the Italian championship at the beginning was difficult. Serie A is a very tactical and technically high-level league, it wasn’t easy to adapt, but here I was able to realize the dream of playing against the best defenders in the world. After a year, however, I can say that I feel like an even more complete player. Over time I think I have learned about this championship and have adapted accordingly“.

First impressions of the Venetian city:

In these days I have had the opportunity to wander around a bit and start discovering Verona, I think it’s a really beautiful city. I’m happy to be here. Last year the fans at Bentegodi impressed me for their passion, I’m happy this year to be able to play for their team ”.
