The protagonist of our column “The Poet of the week” after the twenty-eighth day can only be the center forward of theInter Lautaro Martinez. The Bull scored a hat-trick in Friday night’s match against Salernitana a San Siro, breaking a fast that is too long. The Argentine striker was dry for well 8 games: the interesting detail is that his last goal came on December 17th against Salernitana.
Since then Lautaro has not been able to make an impact, but on the last day of the championship he returned to make the Nerazzurri fans happy and did so by scoring three goals. He unlocked and unlocked his Inter: the Nerazzurri in fact, before the 1-0 against Salernitana, had not scored in all competitions for 425 minutes.
The three goals of the Argentine on Friday are all like a great striker: in the first goal he is good at exploiting an excellent through ball Stretcher and with the right he slips Sepe. On the occasion of the 2-0, the script repeats itself: the Italian midfielder fishes well between the lines Lautaro, who this time manages to put the ball into the net with his left foot. The third goal comes from a nice pass from the right of Dzeko, here Martinez anticipates Dragusin and with the right he hits the center under the crossbar.
Among other things, the second goal made the striker born in 97 the seventh player from 2018/2019 (his first season in Italy) to reach the 50 goals in Serie A. For Lautaro there are now 16 signings this season (14 in the league, 1 in the Champions League and 1 in the Italian Super Cup). The one against Salernitana was his second hat-trick since he wore the Nerazzurri shirt (his first one dates back to 3 January 2021 at San Siro against Crotone, match ended 6-2 for Inter). Martinez is also the second Inter player to score three goals before the 60 ‘in a single Serie A match (the first was Mauro Icardi, who even made a 51-minute poker away from home against the Sampdoria on March 18, 2018).
Lautaro Martinez’s special week did not end here, because last night the Bull he also broke the fast in Europe. In Champions League has not scored since November 3, 2020 (Real Madrid-Inter 3-2) and after 490 days he returned to scoring (with a big right from outside the box of first intention) and did it in a very important stage like that of Anfield against a monstrous opponent: the Liverpool di Jurgen Klopp.
Lautaro with these two games has shown that he is back the great striker of some time ago. Now Inter need his goals to end this season well, still full of pitfalls and goals to reach.
